Loved our updated and stylish rooms, plus the staff was affable. Its location in Portsmouth was great, very close to restaurants and shops and all the main sights and public gardens. It was steps away from Ristorante Massimo, where you can have dinner.

Breakfasts were enjoyable.
The location of the hotel was incredible, close to shops and restaurants. And it was also near to the much noisier downtown.

loved our overnight stay in portsmouth. sailmaker's house exceeded expectations. quaint and cozy with spacious rooms, comfy bed, and spotless bathroom. perfect location, quiet yet just a short walk to town. definitely recommend!
Air conditioner didn't work.

Mick
The hotel was perfectly located in the heart of the city, only a stone's throw away from great restaurants, shops, and attractions. We also enjoyed the complimentary snacks and coffee, which were a much-needed pick-me-up after a day of exploring. The staff were beyond helpful and even provided great recommendations for local events and places to visit.
While the room was well decorated and comfortable, there was a bit of a musty smell and the bathroom had a sewage/drain odor that was quite unpleasant. the room was small and it was a bit of a challenge to fit two large suitcases.
